Get out of bed!

A week ago today, we decided that Grayson wasn't going to sleep in our bed anymore. We had a long talk about what we were going to do when he started to cry. We decided that we weren't going to pick him up unless it had been two hours since his last feeding. If it had been at least two hours, we would change his diaper and feed him before we put him back in his crib.

Trina was really worried about how the first night was going to go. She thought he was going to hate it, then in turn, hate us. Somehow, Grayson did really well. He didn't fuss too much. We didn't have to listen to him cry for more than a few minutes. It ended up being much easier than I expected it to be.

After a few days of having him in his crib overnight, we decided that I would get a chance to feed him for the first time. He really didn't like the pacifier, so we didn't know what to expect when we introduced a bottle. I feed him for about 40 minutes the first night. He ate about two ounces. We have have no clue if that's good or not.

A few days went by and we decided that he should try a different type of bottle and nipple. Trina feed him at one point with the new nipple and Grayson ate four ounces in almost no time at all. He is a beast at eating when he can latch on correctly.

Speaking from experience, it is so much better to break Grayson from sleeping with you now!! It was pure h*ll to break Payton and Cael from sleeping with us and they were much older! I am glad things are working out with the bottle too.

He'll eat as much as he wants, when he's full, he'll stop. So don't worry about if he's only drinking 2 oz. Might be careful if he's drinking it really fast, as that could mean the nipple hole might be too big and he's getting alot of air (aka gas...aka gas pains that come with it). You're fine though. Having a baby (at least for good parents that care like you guys) is a fun game of learning how each baby is different, and learning to parent them in their ways. Enjoy the game! GO CUBS!
