Exercise

Trina and I have been exercising five days a week for the last three weeks. At the end of the week if we reach our exercise goals we have been treating ourselves to a free treat. Today Trina decided her free treat would be sleeping in.

Thanks

Trina's sewing machine hasn't worked in a while. Let's hope this fixes the problem.

Feeding the birds

We told Grayson that we would go feed the birds earlier this week. We didn't get around to it that day and he kept asking about it. So here we are. Little did we know the city doesn't want people feeding them because they aren't migrating south in the winter.

Tony and Dina

We visited Tony and Dina on Monday in Des Moines. They made us a ton of great food and showed us the downtown area that they live in. We brought the dogs and they enjoyed a walk through a water fountain.

Photo update

Maddux is now 2 months old and is 13 pounds 5 oz. That's the 84% for his weight.  His height (yes I say height, I know he can't stand) is 23.25 inches.  That is the 62% for his height.  We have a big kid.  he is already done his 0-3 month sizes and his 3-6 month sizes are getting snug.  We put him on acid reflux medicine last month and he is doing really well on it. He didn't have it as bad as Grayson, but he still was uncomfortable after eating.  Maddux has been sleeping 6 hours or more at night quite often.  Once this week he slept for 8.5 hours.  It was AWESOME!
Grayson wouldn't stay in his bedroom so we put up a gate.  After climbing it successfully once, Grayson failed on his second attempt.  This is the hole in the wall that his head made.  He hasn't tried to climb the gate since!
We have to find ways to make Grayson feel special because we give so much attention to his little brother.  Trina has been giving him lots of bubbles and even coloring the water to make bath time more fun.
Maddux has beautiful blue eyes!
Grayson and I went to the driving range for Father's Day.  We gave him a 7 iron that is slightly too big for him, but he will grow into it soon.  He did really well for the first fifteen minutes then started to get distracted.  When he wasn't using his club, he was using mine.  One time he swung his club into the path of my club and shattered the graphite shaft, sending the club head down range.
We went to the Blues and BBQ festival in North Liberty.  Grayson and Maddux rode around in the waggon and stayed out of the sun.  There were fun things like fishing, throwing and hitting baseballs, face painting, tattoos, spray painting hair, ambulances, fire trucks as well as blues and BBQ.
Grayson never slept in the car until Maddux arrived.  I love that I can count on him to get a little nap when he is tired.  This particular day we got back from Cael's birthday party where Grayson spent the night at the Owen's house.  He shared a bed with Chance and had a great time on the farm.  By 3:00 Grayson turned into a diva, and by 8:30 when we got home he couldn't keep his eyes open.
Belinda and Eric renewed their wedding vows in Vegas this month.  Maddux was sad that he couldn't make it so he dressed up at home.
We are getting a lot of smiles now that Maddux is two months old.  He is a very happy kid.  It is hard to believe that we can love two kids as much as we do.
This was at the Blues and BBQ festival.  Grayson has started to really enjoy fishing.  During Father's Day weekend he stayed with Nana and Grandpa at the campgrounds.  Chance stayed with them and they got to catch fish.  I'm sure they had a blast.
We also found out how to blog from my iPod so we will likely be posting more often not that it is more convenient.  However, I don't know why landscape shaped photos don't work.  They cut of half of the photo.  If we can figure that out, we have some really good pictures of Trina and Maddux at the park.

May Update

It has been a while since we have posted photos on the blog.  Did you know that having two kids is much more time consuming than having one?
I guess now that Aela is here, we need to photoshop her into this photo.

The Sheldon's sent us this cute Cubs hat.

We took Grayson to the "bowling store" a few weeks back.  He still tells us that he wants to go to the "Bowling Store" when he wakes up from his nap.

These are the flowers at the end of the driveway that Grayson crashes his bike into so he can stop moving.

 Proud Daddy

 Loving the scooter!
Grayson and Maddux painted a flower pot for Mommy on Mother's Day.

Fishing for Trina's birthday.
